GOD'S FOOD PANTRY

God's Food pantry is located at 1104 N. Indiana. It is staffed by several Holy Savior volunteers as well as volunteers from other parishes. Fr. Pat Malone is the spiritual director. Many parishes donate food for the Pantry. Additional food is purchased with donations given to the pantry.

Volunteers bag over 500 sacks of food every other week and distribute them to the elderly, handicapped and mothers with several children in need.

GOD'S FOOD PANTRY NEEDS:

**Food drives - St. Thomas Aquinas School participates in quarterly food drives for the Pantry. Approximately 700 non-perishable food items are collected quarterly by the students. Also know that our parish has 2 collection baskets for daily or weekly donations. Baskets are located by the church library and chapel.

**Spiritual literature - (Please place in the collection baskets found in the parish).

**Monetary donations can me mailed or delivered to the parish office. Please indicate that the donations are for God's Food Pantry.

**Rosaries

**Baby food and supplies

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

** Sorting food

**Bag food

**Distribute food, magazines, rosaries on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at the Pantry from 10:00a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

**Help unload tables on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday and help set up on these days.

**Help deliver the food collected from St. Thomas to the Pantry weekly.

**Help with food drive deliveries.

**Help with volunteer appreciation luncheon (greeters, singers, performers, prepare food, monetary contributions, servers, etc.).

**Drive 8 students and chaperone on distribution day.

**Make or collect items to be distributed by students on distribution day (books toys clothing drives, art projects etc.).

Student T.A., or classroom service project:

Collect food after 8:30 mass and at 3:30 daily.

Collect food after food drives.

Sort and box collected food items.

Schedule a two-hour time any Mon. or Tues. to go to the Pantry to help sort and bag food items for distribution day.

Organize a drive to collect items to be given out at the Pantry, e.g. toys, books, stickers, clothing, etc.

Schedule a 3 hour time on the 2nd or 4th Wednesday to distribute food or collected items.
