Catholic Charities Anthony Family Shelter is an emergency shelter for homeless families. The shelter can feed and house up to 32 residents daily and provide 3 meals a day, personal hygiene supplies, laundry facilities, and a supervised play area. Residents agree to follow guidelines and complete daily household chores. The length of stay is determined on a case-by-case basis, ranging from a few nights to thirty days.

AGENCY NEEDS INCLUDE:

**Household Supplies:

cleaning supplies dish soap laundry detergent

paper products bleach ziploc bags

aluminum foil plastic wrap insulated lunch bags

resealable plastic food storage containers

**Office Supplies:

copier paper legal pads manilla file folders

sticky notes clear tape masking tape

postage stamps staples/paper clips

**Over the counter medications:

pain relievers cold/cough medications

infant medications elastic bandages

reusable ice packs digital thermometer

sinus/allergy remedy heating pads

**Canned Goods/Dry Foods **Baked goods

**Bedding Items: (twin and double)

sheets pillows blankets plastic mattress pads

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE;

** Making monetary contributions.

** Contributing furniture, household items and appliances in working order that

could give someone a fresh start.

** Donating groceries, paper goods, cleaning supplies, linens and personal

hygiene items.

** Volunteering time weekly to answer phones, give rides, prepare rooms for new

arrivals, give special attention to the children, etc. (ages 18 and over).

** Stocking and organizing food pantries. ( !8 or with an adult).

** Transporting donated furniture.

** Regularly stopping bye with perishable items including milk, eggs, bread, and

fresh produce.

** Bringing leftovers from parish dinners, family reunions, or wedding receptions.

Must be used the same day.

** Offering handyman services for minor household maintenance and repairs.

** Preparing a weekend meal or work serving meals.

** Hiring shelter residents for full-time, part-time or one-time work.

** Creating a permanent legacy in honor of a loved one through memorial gifts, or

special honor gifts commemorating birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

** Assist with a holiday gift project.

Student, T.A., or classroom service project:

** Help with yard work.

** Help with painting.

** Warehouse - Arrange items.

** Childcare activity center - arrange with activity coordinator reading, puppet

shows, games, etc.

** Chaperone children to events especially in the summer.

** Help prepare and/or serve a meal.

** Bring in leftovers from a class or school party.
