Deanna grew up in Iowa, third in a family of eight. She attended St. Mary College in Kansas and graduated with a double major in English and Elementary Education while continuing music activities. Since 1972, Mrs. Hanson has taught pre-school through third grade as well as substituting through twelfth grade. Mrs. Hanson began teaching at St. Thomas in 1997. She has lived throughout the Midwest and Connecticut. Her husband George is an engineer at Hawker Beechcraft. They have three children, four grandchildren, and a dog named Wynton. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. She hopes to continue to offer opportunities for each student to build on his/her skills and talents.
